Sakura Sketch & Note Black Paper Books contain 80 sheets of smooth, 140gsm black cartridge paper in a protective hardback cover. Designed for sketching and creative journaling, they offer a dark background for exploring contrast, linework and expressive marks.

The smooth surface is suitable for pens, pencils, charcoal and oil pastels. Choose colours and drawing tools that show against black paper to make the most of the dark background. The paper is acid-free and pH neutral, with clean-cut edges for a neat finish.

A stitched binding keeps your drawings together, while the hardback cover protects the pages between sessions. An integrated pen holder keeps a drawing tool close to hand, and an internal expandable pocket provides storage for loose notes and reference material.

Available in 9 × 14cm and 13 × 21cm, both formats are convenient for carrying with you. Use them to collect ideas on the move or develop a series of black-paper drawings in one book.

We recommend that this pad is perfect for most dry techniques and works especially well with pens & pencils and pastels. Because it is 140gsm (94.5lb) it is a lightweight paper and won’t take watercolour or any other similar wet technique well and the paper will easily buckle. We would suggest any dry medium, however pastels and sketching materials will be the best with this product.
