Royal Talens Art Creation Black Hardback Sketchbooks contain 80 sheets of 140gsm paper for drawing, journaling and collecting creative ideas. The black hardback cover protects your work between sessions, whether you are sketching at your desk or taking your book out with you.

The paper has a smooth, fine-grain cartridge surface with a slight texture, making it suitable for graphite, charcoal and pens. Use it for quick observations, shaded drawing studies or keeping notes alongside your artwork.

The acid-free, pH-neutral paper has clean-cut edges, providing a neat format for sketching, scrapbooking and journaling. Choose a compact book for everyday ideas or a larger page when your drawings need more space.

The range includes A4 portrait, A5 portrait, A5 landscape, 12 × 12cm square and 9 × 14cm portrait, so you can choose the size and orientation that suit the way you work.

We recommend that this paper is perfect for dry art techniques and works especially well with pens and pencils. It is a mid weight paper and may not take watercolour or any other similar wet technique well and the paper could potentially buckle. That being said, it can be used with light watercolour works and inks. We would suggest any dry medium, however pens, pencils, charcoal and other sketching materials will work best on this surface.
