Strathmore Toned Tan & Grey Spiral Sketchbooks contain smooth, 118gsm toned cartridge paper for drawing with both light and dark media. Choose sandy toned tan or warm toned grey as the starting point for your sketches, building shadows and adding highlights against the coloured paper.

The smooth surface is suitable for pens, pencils, charcoal and oil pastels. Use it for tonal studies, portraits, everyday sketching or illustrated journal work, letting the paper colour form part of the finished drawing.

The acid-free, pH-neutral paper has clean-cut edges. A spiral binding keeps your drawings together, while the thick-stock paperback cover provides protection between sessions.

Choose the 9 × 12 inch sketchbook with 50 sheets or the larger 11 × 14 inch sketchbook with 24 sheets. Both sizes are offered in toned tan and toned grey.

• 118gsm smooth toned cartridge paper, suitable for light and dark drawing media.
• Two paper colours: sandy toned tan and warm toned grey.
• Suitable for pens, pencils, charcoal and oil pastels.
• Acid-free, pH-neutral paper with clean-cut edges, spiral binding and a thick-stock paperback cover.
• 9 × 12 inches: 50 sheets; 11 × 14 inches: 24 sheets.

We recommend that this pad is perfect for most dry techniques and works especially well with pens & pencils and pastels. Because it is 118gsm (80lb) it is a lightweight paper and won’t take watercolour or any other similar wet technique well and the paper will easily buckle. We would suggest any dry medium, however pastels and sketching materials will be the best with this product.
