The Clairefontaine White & Ivory Sketch Pad contains 100 sheets of 100gsm cartridge paper: 50 white and 50 ivory. The two paper colours give you a choice of backgrounds for drawing, from a clean white surface to a warmer ivory tone.

Suitable for pencil, charcoal and felt-tip pens, the paper retains pigments well and offers a smooth surface with a slight texture. Use it for everyday sketches, observational studies and exploring how your marks look against the two backgrounds.

Made at the Clairefontaine mill in Meurthe, France, the paper uses long, natural, unbleached virgin fibres. It is acid-free and pH neutral, as well as PEFC certified, recyclable and biodegradable.

The glued binding opens flat and allows individual sheets to be removed. A paperback cover and cardboard backing provide support, while clean-cut edges give the sheets a neat finish.

We recommend that this pad is perfect for mixed-media but works especially well with charcoal and felt-tips. Because it is 100gsm it is a thin weight and can easily be used for dry art techniques, some wet techniques can be used but we would suggest using a thicker paper.
