We recommend this panel is for acrylic based art such as paint and ink. The smooth wooden surface can be painted on straight away, however we recommend using a gesso primer so the paint can absorb and latch on well. Using a primer will also make the panel absorbent so watercolour can be used, however we highly recommend this panel is perfect for acrylic.
