Botanical Ultra Smooth Watercolour Paper is made at St Cuthberts Mill, located in Somerset. The paper consists of calcium carbonate buffered sheets that are made with 50% cotton. These sheets have a neutral pH size (internally) which makes them genuinely acid-free and have been surface sized to allow better wet-in-wet capabilities. The paper is available in a Hot Press finish, giving it an extra smooth work surface. Each sheet is 70x50cm in size and 300gsm (140lb) in weight.

We recommend that this paper is perfect for wet art techniques and works especially well with watercolours. It is a fairly heavyweight paper and will take watercolour or any other similar wet technique well and the paper won’t easily buckle. We would suggest any wet medium, however pastels, charcoal and other sketching materials will work well on this surface too.
