Khadi Bhutanese Papers are made using high-quality materials within Bhutan. These papers are handmade and made from the bark of De-Nar, a high growing variety of Lokta indiginous to Bhutan. Each page is 50gsm which can be used for Ink work and calligraphy. The paper is semi-smooth, and comes in one colour, a light brown tone. (Colouration may vary between batches due to the nature of manufacturing) 

Khadi Bhutanese Papers are deckle-edge which provides a rough edge to the paper. However due to these papers being natural they may have slight variations in cut and edge. The paper is sustainably made and has been sun-dried giving each sheet its own unique colour and edge, making the paper very rustic to use. This paper comes in packs of 3 with different sizes available. 

We recommend that Bhutanese Papers are perfect for Ink work and calligraphy and works especially well with wetter mediums. Because it is 50gsm it is a lightweight paper and wouldn't work well with overly wet media. We would suggest that this paper is perfect for things such as pen and ink works or calligraphy. Another use for this paper is in printmaking as its unique coloured finish offers a lovely printing surface with lino or screenprints.
