Bhutanese Papers are made using high-quality materials within Bhutan. These papers are handmade and made from the bark of De-Nar, a high growing variety of Lokta. Each page is 120gsm which can be used for Pastel, Charcoal and Pencil work. The paper has a slight texture, and comes in a range of colours, Red Earth, Yellow Earth & Black Earth. 

Bhutanese Papers are deckle-edge which provides a rough edge to the paper. However due to these papers being natural they may have slight variations in cut and edge. The paper is sustainably made and is coated in a ground earth. The ground comes in three colours, those being yellow, red and black (colouration may vary between batches). Sheets are 31 x 46 c.m in size and can be bought in packs of 3.

We recommend that Bhutanese Papers are perfect for pastel & charcoal and works especially well with dry mediums. Because it is 120gsm it is a midweight paper and wouldn't work well with wet media. The paper has not been designed to work with wet media and is designed as more of a sketchers work surface. We think this paper is perfect for things such as pastel works or fine art pencil drawings.
