Khadi Papers Square Fat Block Books are made with Khadi handmade paper from their mill in India. The sketchbook contains 100 pages of 100% long fibred cotton rag paper, which is renowned for being high-quality, strong, durable and can last years without deterioration. These rag papers are the only handmade papers in India made with neutral pH size (internally) which makes them genuinely acid-free as well as lignin and sulphur free. Each page is 100gsm which can be used for charcoal and pastels as this medium can take hold onto the paper really well. These sheets are off-white in colour and comes in a medium texture. 

The Khadi Fat Block Book has one deckle-edge which provides a single rough edge to the paper. The cover is paperback and is a grey sheet, which isn't encased around the whole book and is only on the front and back giving a unique look to these pads. The bind is hand-stitched using a section-stitch technique making the pad very sturdy; it can also open-flat. This sketchbook is thick and is perfect for sketching.

We recommend that this block book is perfect for some mixed media and works especially well with pencil, brush pens and fineliners. Because it is 100gsm it is a light weight that can easily be used for dry art techniques as well as some wet techniques however, we would suggest using a light wash or thicker paper to prevent buckling and bleeding.
