Khadi Papers Sketchbook Blocks are made with Khadi handmade paper from their mill in India. The book blocks contain 40 pages of 100% long fibre cotton rag, which is renowned for being high-quality, strong, durable and can last years without deterioration. These rag papers are the only handmade papers in India made with neutral pH size (internally) which makes them genuinely acid-free as well as lignin and sulphur free. Additionally, is has a gelatine size (externally) after the paper is made which will highly reduce or eliminate bleeding. Each page is 210gsm which can be used for watercolour and inks as it absorbs water well and stays wet for longer as well as dry art techniques. These sheets are off-white in colour and comes in both rough and smooth paper.

The Khadi Sketchbook Blocks have one deckle-edge which provides a rough edge to the paper. The cover is paperback and is the same sheet as the pad itself. Because of how plain the front cover is you could easily add your own cover and provide a more unique look. The bind is hand-stitched using a section-stitch technique, after this it is then glued together for extra support; it can also open-flat. These notebooks are a great accessory for any watercolour artist.

We recommend that this sketchbook is perfect for mixed-media but works especially well with watercolour and inks. Because it is 210gsm it is a thick weight that can easily take on water-based techniques and can easily handle a light wash as well as dry art techniques such as pencil and charcoal.
